Training can include

Build the course around the laboratory’s actual system and research needs

Training can be adapted to the instrument configuration, preparation type, application area, planned protocols and the participants’ existing level of myograph experience.

01

System setup

Daily preparation, instrument components, basic operation and practical setup routines.

02

Dissection and mounting

Guided preparation handling and mounting practice for the selected tissue type.

03

Functional experiments

Normalization, wake-up procedures, concentration-response curves and drug testing.

04

Maintenance awareness

Routine care, calibration awareness and practices that support reliable daily use.

05

Application discussion

Experimental design and workflow guidance related to the laboratory’s research aims.

Training pathway

From system introduction to independent experimental use

A structured training pathway helps users connect instrument understanding, preparation technique and experimental procedures into a reproducible daily workflow.

01

Understand

Review system principles, the experimental purpose and the fit between the instrument and preparation.

02

Prepare

Learn system setup, calibration awareness and practical daily routines before mounting tissue.

03

Mount

Practice dissection, tissue handling and mounting with direct technique guidance.

04

Run

Perform normalization, wake-up procedures and selected functional experiments.

05

Maintain

Review system care, troubleshooting awareness and long-term reliability practices.

Why training matters

Move from instrument installation to confident experimental use

Myograph data quality depends on more than the instrument. Preparation handling, mounting technique, normalization, experimental design and system care all influence reproducibility.

Understand the instrument

Learn the system components, daily preparation, calibration routines and practical setup required before starting an experiment.

Improve preparation handling

Receive guided practice with dissection, mounting and tissue handling techniques relevant to the selected preparation.

Run structured experiments

Connect normalization, wake-up procedures, concentration-response curves and pharmacological testing into one coherent workflow.

Protect system performance

Learn routine care and maintenance practices that help keep the myograph calibrated and ready for laboratory use.

Example program

Example onsite two-day myograph training program

The schedule below illustrates how standard sessions can be combined into a practical two-day course. Final content can be adapted to the DMT system, tissue preparation and research aims.

Day 1

System and preparation foundation

Establish the theoretical and practical foundation required before participants perform independent experiments.

  • Background and experimental design Principles behind myograph studies and how the instrument connects with the planned research question.
  • System features and setup Instrument components, daily setup, calibration awareness and preparation before experiments.
  • Dissection and mounting demonstration Preparation handling and mounting workflow demonstrated by the DMT specialist.
Day 2

Functional workflow and system care

Move from guided preparation practice to functional experiments and the routines required for reliable long-term use.

  • Hands-on dissection and mounting Practical user training with direct guidance and correction of handling and mounting technique.
  • Functional experiment Normalization, wake-up protocol, concentration-response curve and selected drug testing.
  • Maintenance and system care Routine care, calibration awareness, troubleshooting principles and long-term reliability practices.

Information DMT needs to plan the training

The most useful training programs are based on the laboratory’s actual instrument, preparation, level of experience and planned experimental endpoint.

Sharing this information before quotation helps DMT define the course content, duration, preparation requirements and practical exercises.

The availability of specific tissue preparations, reagents and laboratory consumables should be agreed before the training date.
DMT system model Identify the myograph, pressure myograph, organ bath or muscle system included in the training.
Tissue preparation State the species, tissue type, vessel or muscle size and the intended mounting method.
Research endpoint Describe the planned measurements, protocols, compounds and experimental questions.
Participant experience Explain whether participants are new users, experienced researchers or a mixed group.
Number of participants Provide the expected group size so that the practical training can be planned appropriately.
Location and timing Include the laboratory location, preferred dates and whether installation support is also required.
