Our History

In the late 1970’s Dr. Michael John Mulvany returned from a sabbatical, in which he worked with Dr. William Halpern. Both had an interest in developing a technique to look at small arteries in-vitro. Upon the return to Denmark, the development of the so-called myograph continued.
Through modifications and enhancements in collaboration with Toolmaker John Pedersen, the robust myograph was developed.

This was the basis of the myograph systems still used today – four decades later. The myograph formed the foundation of Dr. Mulvany research, Danish Myo Technology (DMT) and the spread of the use of the myographs and their successors worldwide.

Since our inception, we have served and supported thousands of global customers across many reserach fields. 1,000+ universities in more than 79 countries use DMT Myographs, and the outcome is more than 20,000+ publications in a vast majority of scientific journals. ​

Having tried other systems and Danish Myo Technology pressure myographs I must say that I clearly prefer the DMT system. Both systems are easy to handle manually, however on the analysis side, the DMT system is superior. ​

Easy to set-up, use and maintain the myographs have given us many years of trouble free operation. On occasion we have sent some of our older models back to Denmark for service/repair and been impressed by the prompt attention and speedy turn-around time.
