Ultra-low flow measurement for pressurized vessel studies

The DMT FlowMeter – 162FM enables fast, calibrated measurement of ultra-low liquid flow through intact tubular preparations such as arteries, veins and small ducts under dual pressure control. When combined with a compatible DMT pressure myograph and MyoVIEW, it connects vessel-diameter changes with real-time flow, shear stress and vascular resistance.

Vessel diameter alone does not always describe the complete functional response. The 162FM adds a direct flow measurement that can be interpreted together with pressure, vessel dimensions and experimental interventions.

Why flow matters

Interpret vessel diameter together with functional flow

During a pressure-myograph experiment, the vessel may constrict or dilate in response to pressure, luminal flow or a pharmacological intervention. Adding direct flow measurement helps establish how those diameter changes affect fluid movement through the vessel.

MyoVIEW can combine diameter, pressure and flow measurements to support real-time calculation of vascular resistance and shear stress.

The 162FM is an add-on instrument for laboratories that require direct flow measurements alongside vessel diameter and pressure data.

Its internal electronics provide calibrated, temperature-compensated output for integration into the DMT pressure-myograph and MyoVIEW workflow.
