Wire Myograph Installation and Training at the University of Wisconsin–Madison
Installation and hands-on training for two wire myograph systems supporting vascular and smooth muscle research.
Last week, we had an exciting install and training session at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where we set up 2 wire myograph systems to support research in vascular and smooth muscle function.
Collaborative setup and hands-on training
Working alongside Johanna Hannan & Acacia White, PhD was a real highlight— their expertise and curiosity made the setup and training a smooth, collaborative process.
The UW–Madison team will use the wire systems for rat artery and bladder tissue experiments, advancing our understanding of how blood vessels and smooth muscle work. Insights from this type of research can have an impact on conditions ranging from cardiovascular disease to bladder dysfunction.
Wire myograph training helps researchers move from system installation to confident experimental work with vascular and smooth muscle preparations.
Supporting vascular and smooth muscle research
Wire myograph systems are designed for precise measurement of isometric force in isolated vessels and smooth muscle preparations. For the UW–Madison team, the systems will support experiments using rat artery and bladder tissue, helping researchers study contraction, relaxation and tissue function under controlled laboratory conditions.
System installation
Setup of two DMT wire myograph systems, including hardware review, connections, chamber components and practical laboratory configuration.
Wire myograph workflow
Practical orientation on mounting principles, system operation, signal handling and preparation-specific workflow considerations.
Research applications
Support for studies in vascular and smooth muscle function, including rat artery and bladder tissue experiments.
Training outcome
A smooth, collaborative training process designed to help the team begin their experimental work with confidence.
Why training matters
Wire myography is a powerful approach for studying tissue contractility, pharmacological responses and functional changes in isolated preparations. Because mounting, normalization, calibration and tissue handling can all influence data quality, hands-on training helps users develop consistent workflows from the beginning.
DMT onsite training connects the system to the customer’s actual research context, helping users understand how the instrument supports their experimental design, preparation type and daily laboratory workflow.
