Why service matters

Protect performance and experimental continuity

Regular maintenance supports force measurement, temperature control, chamber drainage, gas flow and long-term instrument function while helping laboratories identify wear before it causes avoidable disruption.

01

Maintain measurement quality

Service helps keep the system operating within its expected functional performance for reliable experimental output.

02

Reduce avoidable downtime

Preventive care helps identify wear and developing issues before they interrupt planned laboratory work.

03

Protect system lifetime

Cleaning, lubrication, compensation and functional testing help protect the long-term value of the instrument.

04

Receive documentation

The completed maintenance service includes documented functional testing and a service certificate.

Maintenance overview

Key information before scheduling service

DMT recommends preventive service after approximately 2,000 hours of system use. Depending on laboratory workload, this will often correspond to a service interval of one or two years.

Workshop maintenance is normally completed within four working days after the system has been received by DMT, subject to system condition, required parts and the agreed service scope.

Contact DMT before shipping the system. The service route, workshop timing, transport arrangements and any reported issues should be confirmed in advance.
Recommended interval Approximately every 2,000 hours of use, commonly every one or two years.
Workshop turnaround Typically four working days after the system is received at the DMT workshop.
Preventive work Dismantling, cleaning, reassembly, tubing replacement, lubrication and applicable firmware updates.
Functional verification A 24-hour test covering temperature, drainage, gas flow, transducer drift and system stability.
Service documentation A documented functional system test and certificate are provided after completion.
What is included

Myograph Maintenance Service scope

The maintenance service combines mechanical preventive care with a structured functional test of the serviced system.

Service work

Cleaning, reassembly and preventive care

The system is inspected and serviced to support stable routine operation and reduce wear in key mechanical components.

  • Dismantling of the system
  • Cleaning of relevant parts
  • System assembly after cleaning
  • Replacement of tubing
  • Lubrication of moving parts
  • Transducer temperature re-compensation where applicable
  • Firmware update where applicable
Functional test

24-hour system verification

Following maintenance, DMT performs a functional test and documents the system results in a service certificate.

  • Temperature delay time
  • Temperature stability
  • Chamber drainage
  • Oxygen or air flow
  • Transducer drift
  • General system stability
  • Documented functional test certificate
Workshop service

Detailed care of mechanical and measurement components

Preventive maintenance requires careful handling of internal components, transducers, tubing, moving parts and chamber assemblies.

How the maintenance process works

DMT confirms the service route and timing before the system is sent, collected or scheduled for onsite maintenance.

01

Contact DMT support

Provide the system model, serial number, approximate usage and a description of any observed issues.

02

Confirm the service route

DMT confirms workshop service, transport arrangements or whether onsite service may be relevant.

03

Service the system

The system is dismantled, cleaned, reassembled, lubricated, compensated and updated where applicable.

04

Perform functional testing

DMT tests temperature, drainage, gas flow, transducer drift and overall system stability.

05

Document and return

The service is documented, a certificate is provided and the system is prepared for return to the laboratory.

Plans and service conditions

Maintenance plans, warranty extension and replacement parts

Laboratories with regular system use can select structured maintenance planning, while replacement parts and warranty conditions are handled separately from the standard service scope.

Parts and transducer replacement

Mechanical replacement parts and transducer replacement are not included in the standard Myograph Maintenance Service. Where replacement is required, DMT will advise on the appropriate part, repair route and additional quotation.

One-year warranty extension

When an eligible myograph system undergoes Maintenance Service before the original warranty expires, the warranty may be extended by one year. Contact DMT before expiry to confirm eligibility and timing.

Three- or five-year plans

Structured three- and five-year Maintenance Plans are available for laboratories seeking predictable service planning, regular preventive care and support for high-use or multiple systems.

Multiple systems

Onsite service may be available for laboratories with several systems

Where a laboratory operates multiple DMT myograph systems, an onsite service visit may provide a practical alternative to shipping each system separately.

DMT assesses whether onsite service is appropriate based on the number and type of systems, location, required service scope, laboratory access and scheduling.

System information Model and serial number for every system included in the service request.
Usage history Approximate hours or years of use and the previous service date where known.
Observed issues Current condition, performance concerns or known faults for each system.
Location and timing Laboratory location, preferred service period and any site access requirements.
Number of systems The total system count and whether the systems are installed in one or several laboratory rooms.
