Successful 114P Pressure Myograph Training at NIAID
Hands-on installation and training for Dr. Eric Calvo's lab at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Great research starts with great science, but it also depends on having the right tools and the confidence to use them effectively.
114P Pressure Myograph installation and training
We recently had the opportunity to complete a 114P Pressure Myograph System installation and hands-on training for Dr. Eric Calvo's lab at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
The purpose of the visit was to support the lab team in moving confidently from system installation to practical daily use. A pressure myograph workflow requires both a clear understanding of the instrument and careful attention to preparation handling, system setup, calibration, pressure control and data acquisition.
A successful training visit is not only about installing the system. It is about giving researchers the confidence to use the instrument effectively in their own experimental workflow.
Hands-on training with the Calvo Lab
A special thank you to the outstanding members of the Calvo Lab who participated in the training:
- Fabiola Castelló-Casta
- Paola Valenzuela Leon
- Brian Bonilla
System installation
Review of the 114P Pressure Myograph System setup, hardware, connections, chamber components and accessory configuration.
Pressure myograph workflow
Practical guidance on preparing the system for pressurized vessel experiments and understanding the key workflow steps.
Hands-on user training
Direct training focused on helping users become comfortable with the instrument, software and routine operation.
Long-term confidence
Support focused on helping the lab continue with reliable daily use, relevant documentation and follow-up support routes.
Why training matters
Pressure myography is a powerful technique for studying intact vessels under controlled pressure conditions. Because the workflow involves delicate preparations and technically important setup details, hands-on training can make a significant difference in how quickly a team becomes confident with the system.
By working directly with the customer’s laboratory team, DMT can help connect the instrument to the real experimental context: the sample type, research questions, setup requirements and day-to-day routines of the lab.
Supporting the research workflow
DMT installations and training visits are designed to support more than the instrument itself. They help ensure that researchers understand how the system fits into their workflow and where to find the relevant support resources after the visit.
