DMT 620M Wire Myograph and MyoDAQ training at Oregon Health and Science University

DMT product specialist Bill Wisniewski visited Dr. Yabing Chen's laboratory at Oregon Health & Science University for an in-depth training session focused on the 620M Wire Myograph System and MyoDAQ.

Advanced system and software training

The session brought DMT directly into the laboratory to work with Erandi Velazquez-Miranda, Ph.D., Marco Bravo, Yong Sun and Zhehao Zhu. Training focused on advanced features, practical techniques and ways to streamline the team's research workflow.

By reviewing both the 620M hardware and the MyoDAQ acquisition environment together, the team could connect system operation, signal acquisition and day-to-day experimental procedures within one coordinated workflow.

Combining hands-on myograph training with data-acquisition guidance helps researchers understand the full path from tissue preparation and force measurement to recording and reviewing experimental data.

Connecting the 620M and MyoDAQ workflow

The DMT 620M is a multi-channel wire myograph system used for measuring isometric force in isolated vessels and other smooth muscle preparations. MyoDAQ supports acquisition and management of signals generated during these experiments, helping users organize a consistent workflow from the instrument to recorded data.

620M system review

Practical orientation covering the multi-channel myograph, chamber components, transducers, system controls and routine operating considerations.

MyoDAQ acquisition

Guidance on connecting the acquisition workflow to experimental recordings, signal handling and the laboratory's routine data-collection process.

Advanced techniques

Discussion of features and practical techniques intended to help the team work efficiently and make better use of the available system capabilities.

Workflow outcome

A coordinated hardware and software workflow designed to support confident system use and streamlined experimental work.

Why integrated training matters

Wire myograph experiments depend on consistent preparation handling, mounting, normalization, calibration and signal recording. Training that covers both the instrument and acquisition software helps users understand how each step affects the complete experimental workflow.

Working directly with the OHSU team also allowed the session to address questions in the context of their own laboratory environment, equipment setup and research practices rather than treating hardware and software as separate topics.
